Dianthus
Propagation of many species is from cuttings of 1 to 3 inches in length. They should be taken during early summer after flowering is finished. Strip off the lower leaves before sticking in moist but not wet sand. Make sure that air circulation is good to discourage fungus. They should root sometime between 7 and 10 days.
There are a few Dianthus that I have not included here but do hold great horticultural potential in cold climates..these may be found on this excellent external link.
